Mayfair On Main write history by bringing the first vocational course to Gibraltar’s schools
Sarah Carreras and Pauline Olivera from Mayfair On Main, Gibraltars first luxury salon experience are proud to be realising their ambition of becoming Gibraltar’s first Hair and Beauty Academy whereby local students can gain internationally recognised City and Guilds qualifications in Hair and Beauty.
The passionate duo together with their team of educators and industry experts are extremely excited to be bringing the first vocational qualification in hair and beauty to Gibraltar’s schools. They are proud to be spearheading vocational pathways and wish to set an example to other industries to ensure that they follow suit and Gibraltar is able to provide a full spectrum of vocational qualifications.
The Academy will also offer advanced qualifications in hair and beauty for those wishing to make this their career and will be open to mature students as well as those already in the industry who wish to progress.
Pauline Olivera, Head of Education and Creative Director of Mayfair On Main explains “We are honoured and privileged to be able to share the vast knowledge gained over many years in the industry to be able to help the young people of Gibraltar to achieve their long term career goals in this in exciting, creative and rewarding industry.”
Sarah Carreras, Owner and founder explains “Education is the reason that Mayfair On Main was founded and we are committed to providing ongoing training and career pathways in this creative industry. Our flagship salon was created to inspire students to see hairdressing as the art form that it is and to invigorate and help raise the standards of the Gibraltar Hair Industry. We have invested in bringing some of the best talent in hair to The Rock to be able to share their expertise and help train up the next generation of Stylists. We are proud to have inspired Gibraltar’s youth and to see such a large intake of students on our first course. We thank HMGoGs Department of Education for believing in the feasibility of this project and for helping us to make it a reality. We look forward to writing history and continuing to spearhead the Gibraltar Hair Industry and help many students take their first steps into the world of hair and beauty.
